Indicators

Dont talk about it...be about it...want me to send you a zoom link?

Why that? I already know that anyone who refutes the value of indicators doesn't know "come here from sic 'em"... which apparently includes YOU! :)

Let me tell you this... NOBODY can convince me that indicators don't work. I use something of them every day and have for years!!

The one that works for you and your trading style. Most are derivative from price and volume, which is why people likes those as the the base. Many are lagging, which allows you to "backtest" and see them working, but when they are applied to real-time they fail for getting exits and entries right.

You should also be asking about timeframes as that makes a major difference on which ones can be used or not used.

The problem is that there are a number of different moving averages...How do you know which to use...but the most important piece...how do you define risk with moving averages alone? You can't...price in itself can give you clear cut ideas on when you are wrong.

Don't want to hurt your feelings, but you posing "noob" questions.

You extended the challenge with the comment "...egg on your face". I simply accepted.

I am certain I could convince you they are unreliable.

Ha! That would be like trying to convincing me the sun does not rise in the East.

It's not a challenge. I'm not going to try to convince/educate you.

No feelings hurt here. The entry level question was appropriate as the posters original question seemed to be a "noob" question.

Again, im ready whenever you are. I'd bet you a case of fat tire?

Sorry sir.... you've got ZERO chance in prevailing... but not worth my effort to educate you.

Don't want to hurt your feelings, but you are not even CLOSE to being on the right track.
