A split between rich and poor nations in the run-up to climate-change talks widened on Thursday.

India rejected key scientific findings on global warming, while the European Union called for more action by developing states on greenhouse gas emissions.

“We have to get out of the preconceived notion, which is based on western media, and invest our scientific research and other capacities to study Himalayan atmosphere,” he said.

The current prediction is a sea rise of 6 metres by 2050

This puts MOST major cities under water !! including New York

The scientists who are pushing Climate Change are doing it because they are getting paid to study it.


"The Science and Public Policy Institute announces the publication of Climate Money, a study by Joanne Nova revealing that the federal Government has a near-monopsony on climate science funding. This distorts the science towards self-serving alarmism. Key findings"


"The US Government has spent more than $79 billion of taxpayers’ money since 1989 on policies related to climate change, including science and technology research, administration, propaganda campaigns, foreign aid, and tax breaks. Most of this spending was unnecessary."

Maybe not "geographically" underwater.....yet, but it definitely is "financially" underwater. :D
 
I can't help but feel man claiming to be the reason for "global warming" is nothing more than our collective ego rearing it's ugly head. In the scheme of the universe man is completely insignificant. The planet has ALWAYS been in a constant flux of temperatures long before man ever walked the planet there were periods much HOTTER than we are at now as well as "ice ages" where it was much much colder than it is now. Why do people think suddenly they can control this?

Even if we completely eliminated the human races ENTIRE "carbon footprint" the planet would STILL go through these cycles. In the middle ages there was a huge spike in temperatures and yet they were not burning fossil fuels, using aerosol cans with CFC's, or releasing green house gases from factories and chemical plants. I am not saying that "global warming" in it's entirety is a myth. The planet may indeed be getting warmer. However, man's role in this process is being completely overstated and blown way out of proportion. We can no more control the planets temperature than we can solar flares or hurricanes.
