I'm reminded of a conversation where the same AK resistance was being discussed. I still believe that the equivalent of a space suit/diving helmet with the weight supported on the shoulders makes sense. Little laptop type cooling fans. You never need to turn you head that much and it could incorporate enhanced vision and especially directional hearing.

DAFUQ. Since when is the 7.62x39 a sniper round?! Our issued Ops Core helmets defeat 7.62x39. 5.56 requires a higher level of protection than 7.62x39.

7.62x54 is the sniper round of former comm-bloc.
