So I'm going back to the drawing board to reprogram the bot to do that. Run some tests and let it run live.
Hello hilmy83,

Good Algo you have.

Why not let the algo run and hope the -25% Drawdown is soon recovered in a 1-2 months? I understand drawdown is tuff. I had an algo last year that stayed in drawdown the entire year since march 2023. I had stop in about November 2023, tuff pain.

What do you consider to be the opening range?

I trade for income. I don't want to waste time waiting, especially months. Otherwise I'd just invest in the stock market.

Sure, but what do you consider to be the opening range? A lot of people have different opinions on this.

Some take the first minute, others 5 minutes, 30 minutes or even the first hour.

Hello hilmy83,

I completely understand buddy. I completely understand and agree. At least with manual trading, you have some control on drawdown recover.

Waiting for 1 system to recover drawdown was a painful experience.

Screw it, I'm going back to manual trading. Need to brush up on the skills.

Starting @ 2am CST, trading NQ

Using my classic moving averages + vwap bands setup.
Scale out when wrong or hold whole position till profit target.
Hang in there. You are smart, eventually will figure it out.

Going back to manual and work out a different strategy is the right move if you can't afford the 25% drawdown.

I feel for you.

Trading for income is very hard. Unless you can bank part of the profits and compound the returns to build wealth, you can't afford drawdowns.
