Indefinite detention for American citizens on the horizon, WH will not veto NDAA

Quote from DAS Trader:

The Patriot Act was but a precursor...testing the waters to see what Americans would do. We didn't do jack shit. Welcome to the next phase.

All the partisan bickering, division, pretending one side was better than the other, all of it has led us to this point. We have been duped, hoodwinked, bamboozled, led astray, run amok and now America is on the edge of being, officially, over.

George Orwell is one of my favorite authors. As I have said before we are well past the event horizon. But people will always resist.

That's why we need Ron Paul, more than ever.

Today you're a kook and an extremist if you want to uphold the Bill of Rights. That's why we need a kook and an extremist as President.

Quote from achilles28:

10 things scare the hell out of me about the NDAA

1) That a group in Congress would even write it
2) That the house and senate overwhelming voted for it
3) That Levin and McCain did not include protections for Americans in the original bill
4) That after house debate, the opposing minority sought to include those simple protections in the bill, and were defeated
5) That Obama specifically asked Levin-McCain not to include protections for Americans in the bill, and they agreed!
6) That most of the votes for the bill were proposed to be done BY VOICE
7) The virtual media blackout on it
8) The non-reaction of most people, ET included
9) The systematic use of the Patriot Act against American citizens, for non-terror related crimes (despite up-and-down assurances from Congress, POTUS, DOJ and FBI it wouldn't be used against Americans).
10) That the SCOTUS routinely perverts the Constitution and twists its definition to meet the needs of the sitting administration (ie. the Obamacare insurance mandate ruled "Constitutional").

This scare the living shit out of me. The NDAA is the biggest news since 911. It spells the end for the Constitution, and if the Supreme Court upholds it, turns America into a Police State. There is no hyperbole here. People must wake the fuck up, right now. Hardcore authoritarians run the show. This is pure madness. I can't stress this enough. I am preaching, but this is it. This is the end of America. People throw around the phrase "shredding/trampling on the Constitution" so much it's become a meaningless cliche. THE NDAA IS NOT A CLICHE. THIS IS THE END OF THE BILL OF RIGHTS. WAKE THE FUCK UP!

Actually, this was covered in the media just yesterday.
