In the Coronavirus Fight in Scandinavia, Sweden Stands Apart

I am the alarmist... what lying douchebag you are.
The last argument was about suicides and hospitalizations was about kids you lying moron.

I recall quoting an article that said we did not have good national statistics at that time...

however.... we know what many pediatric doctors have been saying...

Among the many dangers the coronavirus pandemic has brought, parents really need to be on the lookout for one in particular: an increased risk of suicide among vulnerable teens.

"We've seen an upsurge in really bad suicide attempts," and the pandemic is likely behind that increase, said Dr. Taranjeet Jolly, an adult and pediatric psychiatrist at Penn State Health's Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Social isolation during the pandemic can push youngsters with underlying mental health issues "over the edge," Jolly said in a Penn State Health news release.

And yet country after country around the world shows no significant increase in suicide rate or teen suicide rate. In fact -- in some countries like the U.S. the rate of increases in suicides slowed in 2020.

Despite all of this -- you continually posted alarmist articles that the suicide rate was going to rise sky high due to lockdowns. This turned out not to be true at all.

Information has previously been provided showing the actual suicides rates in multiple countries during 2020 showing the reality that there has been no significant increase in suicide rate across the globe.

Thanks for pushing your alarmist nonsense to drive your political agenda to not have lockdowns. In many ways your desperately searching for a suicide increase (or articles to support it) is shameful.

Even the article you posted above shows no data demonstrating an increase in teen suicides in 2020 -- despite a headline that attempts to promote it. The article merely states that parents should be on the lookout for suicide risks.

Sweden's suicide rate per 100,000...did increase dramatically in 2020 during the Pandemic.

It had the largest increase during their "no lockdown" policy. The below charts show 12 per 100,000 for the three years prior to the Pandemic.

In contrast, 14.8 (almost 15) for the 2020 Pandemic year. That's a huge dramatic increase.

Well... that's what happens when you don't lockdown during a pandemic --- a much higher suicide rate increase than other nations which did lock down.

I haven't had time to research the statistical data involving Sweden's neighboring Scandinavia countries (e.g. Denmark, Finland, Norway) but I would not be surprised if those countries did no worst than Sweden per 100,000 people.

Now we have recently seen the discontent in Sweden the past few months via an escalation on Protests...Sweden knows they're having equal problems as countries that did lockdown or did not lockdown but consistently wear face masks.

For example, Finland is 15.9 (that number alone is worst than Sweden's 14.8) but I do not have access to Finland's prior years of suicide rates to know if that 15.9 is increasing, decreasing or the norm in Finland.

In contrast, Sweden did in fact dramatically increase per 100,000 in 2020.

Pandemic hasn't been easy on any country in the world. Some countries so a decrease, others saw an increase while others are within the norm.
