In the Coronavirus Fight in Scandinavia, Sweden Stands Apart

And where is your quote from.... provide the link to the CDC location of it --- so we can see the complete context.
(BTW -- the early statements in March of 2020 were about N95 masks which should be used by medical professionals.)

The quote was hyperlinked in the word "here" above. But for the sake of cooperation, here it is again:

I don't imagine the CDC would keep that quote up on their website at this point.

And then there is this...Of course it comes from Twitter, so it might not be up to your standards.

So this was early in the pandemic. Once proper studies came out based on science they changed their directive which is quite appropriate. You should be asking yourself what is the science showing about large scale mask wearing and COVID transmission now that many studies have been completed.

Ah, so the Center for Disease Control didn't realize prior to the Coronavirus-19 that viruses could be slowed by masks? The other Coronaviruses, Noroviruses, Rhinoviruses and the like never gave them that data? They had this epiphany later on?

And, just curious, you actually believe all that?

Do you believe that the results of scientific studies should drive a change in recommendations? Or do you still believe the earth is flat.

I absolutely believe that scientific studies should drive changes in recommendations. I do not believe those studies suddenly came in 2020. It isn't like we discovered fire or something last year that allowed for a leapfrog in technical knowledge.

N95 masks have been around - and used - for a long, long time.

By early April the CDC was urging the wearing of cloth masks in public... but Trump was not going to follow the guidance.

Ah, and back to Trumpy trump trump. More trump. Trumpy.

Who cares?

The Center for Disease Control stated, in no unclear manner, that masks didn't work. And then they did work. And you're trying to use them as a source to support that mask mandates work (again, different than do masks work). And the charts I have provided do not back up that data. So you're not exactly on strong ground here yet.

Bottom Line: Wearing masks and mask mandates significantly reduce the spread of COVID.
