Uh, no. I know you live for all this sensationalistic bs and have this obsession with "leftists". Frankly it makes you look mentally ill. You can't make shit up the use it as your evidence. Everything is relative with a pandemic. Relative to most of the world, Canada has handled Covid better then most on every aspect except protecting long term care homes. In particular, this is clear with countries with a similar geography and economy.

On every measure you can find, Canada has dealt with Covid better the US. For example, as of a two weeks ago, we had recovered 75% of lost jobs due to Covid. The US was around 50%. The death toll has been running a third to a half expressed as a rate the whole pandemic. Our schools are for the most part open.

You can say I'm lying, but that in itself is a lie. Your opinion is misguided.

Canada has done an excellent job "balancing" things, far better then most if not all the US. If you have real evidence to the contrary, provide it. I have provided several data points that suggest otherwise. I have also noted from your posts and others that for those involved with schools that Canada is probably more open at the moment in this regard then the US. I could be wrong but probably not. Yes, we restricted indoor dining, gyms, cinemas, and large gatherings like sports more then some. We, however, feel that making those kind of temporary sacrifices are a moral imperative versus having a massive death toll in our "high risk" groups, plus to mitigate the risks inherent in unknowns on long term illnesses related to Covid.

You can preach all you want about what various countries and people are supposedly doing, but your posts confirm at various points you were painfully unaware of what was actually going on. In fact, you were often preaching about techniques needed that were already in place in Canada. I don't expect you to be aware of all of this, but your preaching was ridiculous at times. Which is of course your habit you get on a mission to change the world and all the "leftists" are out to get you.

I suspect with respect to those measures you are doing better than the US for now.
(I argued about San Diego vs Canada a few times because you statements were wrong...)

I am against lockdowns of the low risk other than for protecting hospital access.
The US had plenty of lockdown.

To me new highs in virus suggest all the damage you did during the prior wave... may have been for naught. (unless some of you areas had a lack of hospital space.)

Since we can never know an actual comparison... because you did shutdown...We have to go by what is available.

New highs in infections wipe out any possible statement regarding saving infections...

But we know for sure your lockdown did tremendous financial damage and mental and physical health harm.

So we know on one hand... tremendous damage.
On the other hand... no proof of anything good because you are making new highs in virus...

Sweden also has a single-payer health care system...like Canada. The country’s health care is run on three levels: local, regional, and national. Coverage is universal and automatic, which means that all documented residents receive mostly free coverage for care, and emergency services are available for citizens who live in countries that also belong to the European Union.

Sweden will also provide some free care to undocumented children, and children who are seeking asylum.

The Swedish health care system is mainly government-funded, universal for all citizens and decentralized, although private health care also exists. The health care system in Sweden is financed primarily through taxes levied by county councils and municipalities.

I researched the world's top 10 healthcare systems about 25 years ago when I decided to purchase a 2nd home to go along with United States and France.

Sweden has a good healthcare system but nothing like the United States. Simply, not sure what planet you're on...

The issue is that you want a similar like response by the government and health officials even though the healthcare systems are not the same nor similar like.

@jem . I hope other countries are fairing better but due to the lockdown New Zealand's health system is struggling now to deal with a huge back log for cancer patient treatment . Waiting times have more than doubled to 4 - 5 months , it's terrible . I also know of 5 suicides in the last couple of months .
 
So tell us how it matters with respect to Covid.
I would love to learn something besides the tripe we see
in the propaganda press.

The point I made is that they did not wear masks.
They locked down their old folks homes
They did not shelter in place.

Every image of Sweden from the propaganda press showed pictures of Stockholm with people in congested areas not wearing masks.

So tell me... how is that different that what we could have done?

You could say they social distance..
Well so do we.
We even wear masks unless we are rioting.

You could say our health care sucks...
But you would be completely wrong on that.
Ours is expensive but we typically have great outcomes.
(even if you can't pay.)
We had problems in the beginning in our old folks homes like Sweden and now we seem to have excellent outcomes most of the time.

So why is Sweden so different.
