What's obviously happening here is that two numbers meaning two different things are being confused by me, and perhaps others. I'm OK with either or both numbers now that I have figured out how they are being computed and what they mean. Do you know if the data you quoted is for the entire pandemic period so far?

Fortunately, our understanding of the virus is growing. We know that vulnerability to death from COVID-19 is more than a thousand-fold higher in the old and infirm than the young. Indeed, for children, COVID-19 is less dangerous than many other harms, including influenza.

The gravaman of the issue we discus is whether the Regional Fed banks are private.
The St. Louis Fed told you yes.... they are private.

Second, just because any name can be added doesn't mean they won't be vetted. You are making the assumption that on the final product there will be no vetting. An online petition works like this. Someone who is supposedly in IT should understand this.

These "scientists" and "doctors" listed on the front page are the primary sponsors of the "declaration". Most have appeared on right-wing media outlets and have been writing editorials for months pushing their no-lockdown positions.

They are the people who sponsored the "declaration" and were recruited by the American Institute for Economic Research, a conservative think tank to be the sponsors. All have a history of right-wing political positions related to COVID which they have pushed publicly which is why they were recruited to be sponsors. These are not some random people who signed the petition out of the blue.

So they managed to find 30 doctors and scientists across the face of the globe out of millions who were willing to sponsor the petition. They really should make an effort to add the demon sperm doctor, Dr. Stella Immanuel, to the list to properly represent their community.

To me this forum is like a gold pan, being used in a river with only fool's gold. It is my hope that the most dense of the internet trap and concentrate here. I hope it is not representative of the world at large, some days I'm not sure because of Facebook.
