Well then explain yourself with logical statements supported by data.
How is locking down the low risk... saving lives.. if people get the virus when the country or state opens up... and allow travel, school and and some commerce to return.

So on balance I am not sure Canada is doing better than San Diego given you are trending the wrong direction.

Canada's stats ( all of them ) remain better then California by a wide margin. Of particular note are deaths per million ( 249 vs 406; and active cases 15,600 vs 385,690 ). Toronto flattened the first wave curve a long time ago had numerous zero death days and the local hospital had no Covid patients at all. At no point was a second wave not expected, especially with all schools fully open in Ontario.
Most of what you bring up is irrelevant to your life. I doubt you are moving to Sweden, and the US could never embrace the Swedish model even if were of merit. The American public lacks the respect for others and embrace too many conspiracy theories to make it work. None of your theories were putting a dent into the 100+ deaths every day in California that seemed to go on for 2-3 months solid only very recently dropping ( maybe ).
The US could have easily followed a no mask, no lockdown of the low risk group like Sweden.

Shutting down the healthy for the first time in the history of the world was clearly stupid once we had hospital capacity. I'm confused...I thought it was the Trump administration that declared a Lockdown and eventually banned incoming flights from China...later the same for Europe ?

Actually, the latter (washing hands) should be an easy no brainer for everybody. Its taught to us since childhood to wash our hands before sitting down to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Yet, suddenly, its now infringing upon peoples freedom. Seriously, why didn't the same people protest about washing hands when they were kids.
- Its estimated by health officials that between now to the end of the year...wearing face masks alone can save between 60k - 100k lives.
Lets be clear, the reason why we are still having deaths is because of socially irresponsible people infecting those that are elderly, infecting younger people with underlying medical conditions and infecting those that refuse to wear a face mask / refuse to social distance / refuse to wash hands.
You need to look at your face mask as preventing you from infecting someone else when you may be asymptomatic with very little symptoms instead of viewing your face mask as protecting you although the latter helps.

Masks, social distancing, washing hands is very helpful considering we still do not have a vaccine. There will be more deaths if we did not wear a mask, did not social distance and did not wash hands.

As I've said a dozen times, I'm no epidemiologist... and I really don't know a lot about this stuff... but GWB mentioned today that the common cold is a Corona-Virus.
So with that in mind, it IS aerosol-borne, and its also as easy to catch. I mean Trump may have said this and that, but in the end the cat is not only the most protected person in the world, he's also a germaphobe. He's not stupid and I know he has to be, personally, constantly vigilant about these things. There's not a doubt in my mind. He would be very aware of this.
Why the f does everyone here have a hard-on about wearing a mask? They've done this in Japan for years. For the common-cold. The sh*t IS airborne, and even if its not, say you get it from surfaces and dirty hands that touch those surfaces, how the f does it get on those surfaces? Duh.
Am I the only one here who can think f'ing logically!?
