In the Coronavirus Fight in Scandinavia, Sweden Stands Apart

Your entire narrative is focused on supporting Trump while ignoring inconvenient facts that go against your personal agenda.
False. I would be the 1st person to call Trump out if he did anything that did not have the good of The American People at heart or was unconstitutional. It just so happens that he is doing things for America not against America and these actions are proper and lawful.

For example---right now I am upset with Trump for not stopping the destruction of statues, quelling the riots and allowing CHOP to exist. I am sure he has his reasons which are probably that he wants local governments to have their own authority. However, if they do nothing, he will eventually have to come to the rescue. I believe that he is wanting to let people see what these local Idiot Dem governments are capable of not doing. I wouldn't have waited this long, but his instincts are typically flawless. I am also not enamored of The Trump DOJ to have taken so long getting people indicted that are clearly guilty. People like Brennan, Clapper, Comey, Hillary, Strozk, Paige, McCabe etc.

I don't t read Swedish but this looks like a new intensive care chart per day ...
"Nya intensivvårdade fall per dag"

trending down to 2 to 3 per day lately .

How is this possible? So many of you all tell us that we have to be shutdown.
Please explain this to me. Really... I am not trolling... I want to know how you all reconcile this with your beliefs.

Sweden looking really good. ---Model for the world to follow---

Sweden killed thousands by being unprepared and it will not even gain economically over its peers by year end it seems.

The lockdown longer, prepare then phase open strategy taken by most and all the other Nórdics was the right call.

Nobody is saying hey Sweden was right because they are all on their original better plan, not "coming around" to Sweden's.

New treatments and drugs, everyone up to speed on protecting the vulnerable. Far better than Sweden's costly mistake.

Shutting down the old folks home and isolating the high risk
is part of every model including Sweden's
Unfortunately like the US... the virus got in the old folks homes
before they were shutdown.

In terms the 2 stats that we can use that really matter...
ICU usage and deaths...

Sweden is doing really well right now.
Sweden's model has brought those stats down to incredibly low levels

Sweden is having so few deaths from Covid each day they are simply back to their normal amount of deaths.

As we emerge from lockdown... the US is on the verge of new Covid crisis.

Old folk deaths..
Just like NY NY CT and US in general. 43 percent of our deaths were in old folks homes.

Economics
We shall see I put no faith in economic projections during a shutdown.

Right Call
We shall see how they do after a second wave as Sweden has been saying

Nobody is saying...

No kidding... that is why I am saying it. Look at this new wave in the US vs Sweden.
The ICU stats and daily stats show their model was far superior to our shutdown model.
So somebody needs to look at the stats and say it.

Your response has nothing to do with whether you can explain why the no lock down strategy has deaths back to their normal rate for this time of year and their Covid deaths have trended down so low.

As far economics you are making projections with models.
You don't know the future results.
You would also have to do a regression because every country has a different export mix.

The only thing we can really know... is that their daily death rate is stunning different than the warnings from the media, their "experts" and GWB were warning.

New Treatments and Drugs...
This could be true... the shutdown model best chance of having a superior final result is
for new treatments, new vaccine or the virus dies out on its own... soon.

Costly mistake?

The old people in the nursing homes was a mistake in Sweden and in many other countries.
That is a sunk cost in economics terms. Its a tragedy in real life terms. But, you have to starting trying to improve from there...

When pull that stat out...

The shutdown model appears to be the massively more costly mistake and the damage from the shutdown model is probably about to start hitting peak after peak.

More nonsense.

Had the US gone full Sweden at the time the total number of elderly and otherwise vulnerable would have been massive.

Bad because of a late reaction would have been catastrophy.

That it the reality. You can try and disprove gravity all you want, you just look like a lightweight.

Yep---shutdown is only superior when there are high death rates in the healthy population. ----and there aren't with this strain of Kung Flu.

You are trying to create a divergence of opinion where none exists.
The US and Sweden locked down old folks homes after the Covid crisis began.
We all agree locking down old folks homes is part of a proper plan.

I have not been able to see my mother in months.
Its going to suck because my whole family typically gets together with her this time of year for her birthday / family reunion.
It's not happening. We can't visit her.

It sucks... but it's wise... I agree with it.
