A blind man living in a busy city wouldn't last long with that stupid advice !!"The Gate of the Year"
"And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year.
Give me a light, that I may tread safely into the unknown, and he replied,
Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God.
That shall be to you better than light, and safer than a known way."
M. Louise Haskins
The truth, real essence of beings and events cannot be seen with eyes, but only with the heart. The physical light cannot give you light - it is the inner light which will illuminate your path forever.A blind man living in a busy city wouldn't last long with that stupid advice !!
Sorry, Humpy liked many of your posts till now but here cannot agree at all. I wish your inner light will set you afire before you will reply here if you will.

...Why is compassion not part of our established curriculum, an inherent part of our education? Compassion, awe, wonder, curiosity, exaltation, humility - these are the very foundation of any real civilization, no longer the prerogatives, the preserves of any one church, but belonging to everyone, every child in every school.
- Yehudi Menuhin
I've seen it change from country to country.. And we are still in time to teach it to our children.. even if they may not agree to be a modern Don Quixote, later in their lives, I am sure they will appreciate. At a certain point, only clear conscience and the good you have done for others can be real satisfaction and fill us with joy.Alas compassion and humility are almost non existent in the 21st century society...
