No, the states are not reflected in The Senate. They were at one time before direct election of Senators began, but not now. If the states were reflected in The Senate, Republicans would have a much bigger majority. Your posting reveals the high level of your ignorance.

This would equate to at least a 60 vote Republican Senate when considered in the present. Of course, elections for all Senators don't occur every 2 years so the number of Republican Legislatures and Senators could be higher or lower than that amount depending on election cycles. However, Republican state legislatures have been in the majority, and a large one, since 2010 when Hussein inspired The Tea Party to take hold. ---The 2 split legislatures would likely send 1 Republican and 1 Idiot Dem each and so you can see where there could be a 62 to 38 Republican Senate instead of the 53 to 47 that we have now. Thus, states have lost their reflection in The Senate by virtue of direct election of senators. This was not what The Founders intended. In fact, if Senators were elected the way The Constitution specified then the state legislatures would be able to check someone like Biden from packing The Court etc. The direct election of Senators is an extremely faulty tenet of The Amended Constitution. ---You displayed heavy ignorance on this subject.

I've shown zero ignorance. I already knew what the 17th Amendment did. You're the one showing ignorance by trying to argue that the senators don't represent the states, because they're directly elected by the state's constituents. Your conclusion is completely illogical bullshit.

Reader---just as a follow up----The House of Representatives was designed to represent The People and The Senate was designed to represent The States. When direct election of senators came into play, The Senate became much closer to a second House of Representatives.

It's like you're trying to give me a history lesson to see the light when I already know the history. Indirect or direct, it still represents the people in the state. Who are these state legislatures elected by? The fertile land? By allowing the people to vote on senators we went to a more direct form of democracy. And yes, I'm aware that the presidential nominees were not always chosen by the people.
