In the video "Down in Africa" he is clearly out of his mind with mania.
A friend of my mom was a wonderful artist and very productive however you could always tell the paintings that were done when she was entering a depressed bipolar phase. They were always, quite literally, full of red shades.
I'm not trying to make a red hat/red paint link but the phenomenon of how red (and black) is linked to bipolar disorder is well observed by research and interesting.

This all gets back to that today's definition of "Liberalism" is very different than the previous definition of "classical liberal values".
All in all the article is a worthwhile read.
What conservative means now is nothing to do with what I was brought up to understand it from my mom who left the US in the early 60s.
Socialism vs socialist program (like the US military) etc. Similar words with very different implications baboozel the poorly educated making a proper mess especially when meanings fudge over time (due to the poorly educated).
Somebody in the US please just shoot him in the head before he gets SS protection. That would be nice.
