In 2017 Harvard held a segregated graduation

A bunch of black students held their own "graduation." It was not an official Harvard ceremony. They invited anyone who wanted to participate. The blacks still participated in the official graduation.

Great maybe next year a group of white students can hold their own "graduation". I would love to see how Harvard and the media treats these guys.

Maybe they could get a student to don some shoe polish and impersonate her.

That would be a hoot.

Maybe Bill Clinton could cozy up to her.

Probably not the same. And probably not the same if the Asians did it.

Blacks at Harvard are a marginal population, probably comprising of 5% of the population. Why are you so upset with a privately held "black graduation." Are you offended with a neighbor who has a graduation party for his kid?

Further, everyone was invited to attend. It wasn't a celebration of segregation. It was a celebration of their culture without the disparagement of anyone elses. At my college, the indian society threw some pretty good parties and everyone was invited to attend - but they played Bollywood music. Are you offended by that too? What about the Jews at Harvard who would hold a seder dinner for Jews. Is that offensive?

First of all asspipe, I am not offended. I really don't care what these leftwing, anti-American losers do. I was simply highlighting a point.

You can not argue how against separate but equal, then want to be separate. I am sure Elizabeth Warren would jump at the opportunity for a Native American only graduation.

BTW, these snowflakes are entering the real world. China, Russia, and the Iranians ain't going to be handing them participation trophies. Harvard has done them a disservice.

Asspipe... that's not being offended. If you don't care then why so many posts?

It's not separate but equal. Segregation would be if Harvard ran two graduations. This was a private gathering run by a student organization. Harvard was not officially involved in anything.

Any conservative should love this. A private organization exercising their private rights. Isn't that what the whole argument for defending the neo-nazi's in Charlottesville is based on? Freedom of speech and assembly? How can any conservative adamantly defend one and not the other?

I am pretty sure these snowflakes at Harvard are going to be just fine competing in the real world unlike Trump's base who has to resort to xenophobia and protectionism to maintain their low wage jobs.

It always helps to start with the real facts, but unfortunately today it seems there is just as much incorrect information on the internet as correct. Generally speaking if something does not make logical sense or sounds a bit strange, or does not ring true, as we say, the chances are pretty good that it is not being accurately reported. Or it may be entirely fabricated. Google is a wonderful, and amazing resource.

If I read, or someone told me, that Harvard held a segregated graduation ceremony for its black students, the first thing I'd do would NOT be to repeat it as though it were the whole truth. The first thing I would do is think that this "news" is almost certainly being mis-reported -- and, sadly, nowadays too often intentionally.

Yeah. Even you see how that's inappropriate. FHL probably didn't.

Bill Clinton doesn't seem to think its inappropriate. If we are to follow the standards set by the democrat party, we are to have no monuments, memorials, or schools names dedicated to Bill Clinton because of his racist past.

We expect such freedoms to be available universally and not restricted based on such things as race, religion, ethnicity etc. We know very well that the Harvard administration would never have allowed a separate white graduation event. Or one for Christians, who are certainly more demonized than blacks at Harvard.

What does this have to do with a black graduation party on Harvard campus.
