In 2014 Government Motors Recalls 72% More Cars Than it Sold in 2013

Looked at new cars this weekend. Went to a Hyundai dealership. Best car dealership experience ever. No pressure, nice people, very straightforward.

Their cars basically come loaded, with no options to jack up the price. I wan't very familiar with their cars. I was with someone who was interested in either a small car or a Genesis coupe.

The Genesis coupe is a rocketship. Really great feeling road car for a bargain price.

Their big cars are very impressive. If I was looking for a full size sedan, I would have a hard time passing on the Genesis sedan. Awesome performance at a bargain price.

Which Subie? I have a 2011 Outback... all around very good. I've driven a Legacy... thought it was excellent and a snappy performer.

Japanese cars... especially the ones made in Japan... generally have the best reputations.

I don't recall which model. Perhaps a Legacy, a small sedan but not a WRX. It would run for sure, but lacked the polish of the Mazda. Probably faster though.

Haha...sure.

There are without doubt people here who own a GM, and got the same story from their dealer we did: when the parts come in, we'll call you.

Anyway...

"May was a huge month for auto sales.

"According to AutoData, the pace of sales jumped to an annualized rate of 16.8 million units, the fastest since February 2007.

"This smoked analysts' expectations for a 16.1 million level.

"Almost every major auto company blew away expectations handily.

"Chrysler said auto sales jumped 17% in May, beating expectations for a 14% increase.

"GM said sales surged 12.6%, crushing expectations for just 6.4% growth.

"Ford said sales unexpectedly climbed by 3.0%. Analysts were looking for a 0.2% decline."
