I think government is here to help is a fraud. I think the we're better than them is a fraud. I think the media narrative is a fraud. I think the whole rotten system is a fraud.
Impeachment has 2 penalties:
removal from office
disqualification from holding future office
Trump was President when he was impeached and/or committed his crime. Just because one of the penalties is now moot does not make the impeachment trial moot either. This is not impeaching a private citizen or going back after president's have left office. Trump was impeached while he was President.
Numerous Constitutional scholars have sidestepped the issue of whether he is guilty or not as that is up to the "jury" (Senate) but the Constitutional question, the impeachment is Constitutional since the second penalty is still valid to be given.
Trump's legal team did such a shitty job last night on this question because there was no real valid argument (which is why his first attorny rambled on like an idiot).
President's do not have freedoms to commit any crimes in the last 6 weeks just because they can avoid the removal penalty and I believe as long as he was impeached while in office (let's not address the prez doing something on Jan 19th).

Dems have won the popular vote in 7 out of the 8 last presidential elections,they don't need Trump to stay alive.If there was no EC,gerrymandering in The House and a Senate system that democrat Senators represent 40 million more people with the same amount of GOP Senators Dems would stay in charge.
