Immigration has no “significant” effect on the number of jobs available to U.S.-born workers and helps boost incomes and productivity over time, according to a paper by an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

True. And if we deported illegals... then cut back/off lavish "unemployment benefits for union members", soon people would take the jobs the illegals vacated. Sure, nobody wants to accept that is a necessity... but it is.... a natural consequence of the globalization and outsourcing which brought 300-500 million Chindians and other emerging economy laborers into the world's work force.... willing to work for <$1/hr.
