Your post was great until the point above. You say you are not racist, but you sound racist, at least what you wrote sounds very racist. Poverty is a bitch not race or culture etc...

I love this country for there is less hypocrisy than anywhere else. But when it comes to illegal immigrants it is a modern era slavery. Those against amnesty love illegal immigrants, they want them to stay in the US but illegal for life, that's how it is easy to exploit them at cheap wages for as long as possible.<br>
Small businesses are the winners in the current situation. Middle class working americans if something like that exists are paying the price (hospitals, schools, etc...). <br>
Let's face it, is it possible to send back all illegals? obviously no for 100 reasons! The only way to make everybody win is amnesty of some sort.

People say the illegals that are living in the USA have no rights, no money, low standard of life, well that's just plain BS. They are living in one of the most beautiful contries in the world, getting paid (Maybe shit pay but it's something) and people in (example) Africa can't do shit! They can't hop the fence and start working....They have to swim across the fucking ocean.

I would love to see a Mexican complain to someone in Africa about how they are treated, their rights, how much they get paid, where they live in the USA, and I AM SURE the person from Africa would think it's pretty much paradise compared to where they live.

They should fight their own battle in their own country where the problem is!

This is absurd. They risk their lives to come here to happily do service jobs. If you think those jobs are slavery than you must also think the manufacturing jobs in China are also slavery (but for even lower wages), and you are thus a big supporter of slavery unless you only buy American which I highly doubt since you'd be paying 3-5 times as much for everyday items.

I don't see them protesting to demand anything except to be allowed to continue to do their service jobs that we as a country have allowed them to do for the longest time, until now that it has become politically fashionable to suddenly want to stop winking and instead point fingers and call them illegals. Jay-walking is also illegal.

I spent 4 years in the US - and couldnt get a green card (without waiting a lot longer) - and I have several degrees and a top MBA.

I think its appalling that people who follow the rules get squat, and people who dont follow the rules may get citizenship.

Yes well the history of the united states is that it is a nation of immigrants. So, at some point we need to ask if that tradition is going to be abandoned.

The fact is that we have allowed employers in the US to become dependent upon cheap labor - in some cases below the minimum wage - in jobs that cant be "outsourced" overseas since they need to be done on-site.

The real question is, why have employers been allowed to run busnieses using temporary workers or in some cases illegal workers ? If people really wanted to enforce the existing laws they would. Since they are basically not enforced on has to assume that there is no political will for there not to be low wage workers avaliable to employers willing to break the law.

The problem comes in when the same peple profiting or doing nothing at the whim of employers come out in public stating that "illegal workers are a problem" .. alll with a wink and a nod to the employers funding the re-election campaigns of the people that supposedly enforece the laws .... This is why folks are angry.
