I'm thinking about starting a service...

I would review services like the below. Services that target beginners looking for a quick buck. I was probably mis-leading when I said "over the long term". What I meant was swing/day trade services that demonstrate profits over the long term.

Bulls on Wall Street
Surge Traders
Swing Alpha
Hmmm their obsolete websites... Try and then come back and ask for tips on manual trading or coding robots. Some of us really should pass this stage to make sure they don't miss any surefire things or money machines :)

Can you suggest trading alert services or mentors that are not obsolete?

I'm attempting to benchmark available services. How profitable they are is very interesting and will be the focus of anyone looking at the data, but I'm hoping services being profitable is not required for what I'm doing to work.

I would sign-up for paid alert services I thought had the best chance of gains over the long term, I would document all the trades, analyze results, and publish them each month for people who subscribed to the service. Members would pay for a subscription fee.

Man, you are late to the party. I am surprised nobody mention it, but this service has been already available for free for years:

tradingschools.org

The subscription model wouldn't work by the way, that is why Emmett runs tradingschools on the ads model. Let's say you already have 20-30 reviews with 5 of them fairly profitable. Why would I pay you a monthly fee more than once, when I can just pick out of those 5 one or two signal providers and be done with your service? That is why the ads model is the way to go...

I had this theoretical idea ... probably not illegal, but definitely questionable so just to be clear: I am NOT doing this :)

1. Find a paid service which is profitable (at least lately)
2. Set up a Collective2 to trade the signals.
3. Get enough C2 subscribers to pay for original service in step #1 and possibly earn fees.

What's the worst that can happen?

The worst is, you've paid for the service, you've lost money in the trades, are now flat broke and can't even push your *own* trades to market, they turn off your internet service, your mistress dumps you for a younger man, your fuel pump dies in a metered parking space in front of the whore house across the street from the church (and after the Social Media pictures are taken/posted to your X-wife's favorite social circles, your truck is towed to pay the fines). AND, now you've got the clap.
