I'm sorry I voted for Obama

I can't believe a president would not do everything I want.

But in this one area of interest to me, he has done ok. See link for a complete accounting of what he has accomplished so far.

Bypassed Republican opposition in Congress and ordered EPA to begin regulating and measuring carbon emissions. http://bit.ly/froaP5

His EPA ruled that CO2 is a pollutant. http://bit.ly/iQTSNN

He pushed through a tax credit to help people buy plug-in hybrid cars. http://bit.ly/j8UP5Y

He created a program to develop renewable energy projects on the waters of our Outer Continental Shelf that will produce electricity from wind, wave, and ocean currents. http://1.usa.gov/fgfRWq

He reengaged in the climate change and greenhouse gas emissions agreements talks, and even proposed one himself. He also addressed the U.N. Climate Change Conference, officially reversing the Bush era stance that climate change was a “hoax.” http://bit.ly/dX6Vj3 http://bit.ly/fE2PxK http://nyti.ms/hfeqvv

He fully supported the initial phase of the creation of a legally-binding treaty to reduce mercury emissions worldwide. http://bit.ly/eJ6QOO

Following Bush’s eight year reign, he reengaged in a number of treaties and agreements designed to protect the Antarctic. http://bit.ly/fzQUFO

Created tax write-offs for purchases of hybrid automobiles, and later he and Democrats morphed that program into one that includes electric cars. http://bit.ly/glCukV

Mandated that federal government fleet purchases be for fuel-efficient American vehicles, and encouraged that federal agencies support experimental, fuel-efficient vehicles. http://bit.ly/h5KZqy http://1.usa.gov/fLWq5c http://1.usa.gov/hmUSbk

He strengthened the Endangered Species Act. http://bit.ly/hscjsH

He increased funding for National Parks and Forests by 10% http://bit.ly/fbJPjY

LOL, yep he sure did do all of these things, 1 expensive job killer after another, dont forget he also killed that evil keystone pipeline, but the unemployment rate isnt his fault. Its funny that liberals cheer on this kind of shit, then blame bush when the economy is in the shit house, and then they have no idea why the economy has been so shitty since he took office.

You think China, India and Brazil were busy imposing these regulations on businesses during a weak economy?

And pilots. :D

I came back to this thread tonight to reread the original post because it is thought provoking and part of my head was chewing on it all day today.

But then I see all of these posts from the sub-standard-IQ sect and find myself falling out of my chair with laughter. Seeing you and futurecurrents and the other clown talking about intelligence quotient is so completely and absurdly hilarious I just about pissed myself.

Once or twice I've gotten into serious arguments with Tsing Tao and I could literally *feel* the horsepower on the other side of the screen. Same feeling when dealing with my mom who has a ridiculously high IQ.

Anyway, the original post in this thread is interesting and starkly honest.

I myself voted for John McCain and I was very very unhappy having to do so. I deeply respect McCain's military service and his behavior as a POW is legendary but I have always been uncomfortable with his politics and senate record. I couldn't decide whether his choice of Sarah Palin for VP was brilliant or incredibly stupid. It reminded me a little too much of GHWB's choice of Dan Quayle. I was hugely disappointed when McCain became the nominee.

I agree Tsing Tao is a smart guy, and i enjoy reading his posts

As for your moms IQ, she was smart enough to reject my advances so she must have a couple functioning brain cells..... j/k (sorry, bad "yo momma" joke, i couldnt resist.....)

:D

Quote from IShopAtPublix:

a)Your alleged IQ does not mean shit. b)if you are truly so bright, making simple conjectures and reasoning should not be a problem. If you think the person who did not even know there was a recession and whose primary economic advisor thought the nation was full of whiners (instead of thinking the world economy was on the verge of collapse) would have been good for the economy you are wrong. If you had a doctor who missed the diagnosis of diabetes, you would not want him to be the one telling you of your options once it is progressed. Not a strict analogy but it works.

In terms of factual evidence, US Navy, far from a liberal institution, deemed John McCain NOT to be worthy of the lowest admiral rank. That should speak volumes to you.

It really is a no brainer. US would not benefit from one more war at the current moment and John McCain would have provided plenty of fireworks while being clueless on economy.

Please show me where I said McCain would be good for the economy. I'll save you a bit of time - I never did say it. All I'm saying is that I would have preferred to roll the dice with McCain than with the creature I know now to be in office.

Just because your opinion differs from mine does not make me less intelligent or more wrong. It just makes my opinion different.

Quote from PHOENIX TRADING:

Sometimes I think it's easier to fool smart people than common folk on many issues (including investing).
All someone has to do is appeal to "how special " they think they are.

Perhaps, but my overall point is that I allowed myself to be fooled. I will not make that mistake again.

Fool me once, shame on you....fool me twice, shame on me sorta thing.

I am humbled by your compliments. Thank you, sir.
