95% lose....from the 1000 people who think they have an edge to the 1 person who actually does.
so i suppose 95% of people here lose too

and you think you will find that rare bird here in ET?I'm happy to pay someone who is that VERY rare bird who truly has an edge and produces consistent alpha irrespective of overall market conditions.
and you want to pay for someone to trade for you?I had been an old fashioned trader for 30+ years.
This is precisely the question I am seeking to answer, except a portion of it. It's exceedingly hard these days to find talent to allocate to that truly have consistent positive expectancy and generate alpha. Just trying to find diamonds in the rough using creative methods to source talent. One can no longer give Citadel, Millennium, Verition, etc. etc. any money. The best Managers in the world are closed to outside capital now....so, if we wanted to hand Our money to someone on ET, who would we Want it to be?
I think this is a very intelligent reply. Thank you@Deep Pockets - sit in the weeds for a while and observe. Be very cynical and ask yourself why are they an E.T. poster?
What are they selling? Sponsors keep the site alive and we should all appreciate them, but lots of other posters are peddling classes, mentoring, or advisory services.
Photoshop is a wonderful tool, but time and sales will easily confirm or disprove trading posts.
Half the site worked in a senior position at Goldman and is no complaining about being screwed on $.15 of fees.
As others have mentioned some of the best folks on the site have left and often their handle gets partially "cloned" by folks wanting to traffic on their reputation.
Sit in the weeds for your first few weeks.
No one who is active in the industry will provide outright investment advice or try to surreptitiously attempt to sell you something.
There are lots of folks here whose posts are gold and you'll figure it out quickly.
There is talent and there is money that backs the best of the best talent. I am the latter. However, admittedly it's certainly not easy to find but that is why one gets paid to find talent. It's a full-time job and a half. Obviously, it's not all my moneyDo
This post makes no sense to anything you have said in this thread.
There are very rare circumstances where people are doing very interesting things but don't talk about it much and just mint money (just like HFT until everyone found out about it or similar strategies). Admittedly, that is one in a million but it exists. Just hoping to find someone doing something under the radar who has more capacity than capital at this moment.and you think you will find that rare bird here in ET?
why would someone like that waste time here
