I find absolutely fascinating the amount of views and responses on this thread. It is a fact, there is no free lunch, yet everyone wants one. That's what keeps pro traders in business, despite of the obvious there are a lot of people with hope and a very distorted reality.
After all if you have a lot of money to manage the first thing you would do is to come to an online forum to look for sucessful traders, right ? Yup, Doug Allen too !

Anyone that has a lot of money to invest knows where to go. At the top whatever we talk about health care, real estate, politics, entertainment, finance there is always the same circle of people.
Say you have 100 M or more, you talk to hedge fund traders that have ALREADY PROVEN THEMSELVES WITH A PERFORMANCE for the last 3-5 years.
You would try to get in touch with that kind of people, trust me they are very easy to contact and make them an offer.
Imagine you want to make a movie with a big budget and you look for actors at the beach. Or imagine you have money to build a house and instead of talking to a licensed contractor that build houses before you go to the Home Depot to pick the guys standing at the parking lot.
It sounds good, but in reality it is not likely going to happen.
Oh I get it, if one is posting in a financial forum he must be a gambler ! Aahemm a trader !

Also, if those HF traders are so good, they can find money without problem, they don't need Doug's money.

"It was positively received by critics and went on to gross over US$248 million worldwide, making it the most successful independent film at the time. It also had the highest ratio of box office sales to production cost in American filmmaking history."
It was made using a handycam and UNKNOWN actors...

instead of making silly remarks look at the numbers.
if prop traders gets near 100% of the profits he would have to trade the private funds in ten times the amount to get the same profit return to himself...
this is assuming that he has the ability to scale up at 100 % efficiency which is doubtful.
