I'm looking for an edge - I can share a percentage of my profits

So let me understand this - first time poster who lives in "USA" looking for a total stranger to them, to share their edge.

:banghead:

op done the right thing. :)

Casts a wide net aka the big swing. The fishes will come as they have right here at ET already including you.

Of course this is ET so he will not be given any credit for taking the big swing in throwing up a prayer for help.

Crocodile Dundee did the same thing. He went to the top of the hill/mountain and made a telephone call to & thru' NATURE

You bet THEY came-d and came-d in large numbers and quality. Between them they had many EDGES to share

Okay. If I was the mentor, I would most likely prefer profits based on my trading history, size, etc. I am open to paying cash if that is preferred instead.

don't say stuff like that here, Man. These guys are trading with the milk money, you can't imagine how tempting and enticing it is if you even mention $100.

Trading is not easy...regardless if you have a ton of discipline, or read a ton of books, or work hard, etc. ....if that were the case, you'd see a ton of successful people/traders all around glowing about how much money they are making in the market.

Why would a rare successful trader be interested in hiring or working with some bozo clown?
I certainly wouldn't. I'm fine running this show all alone. and keeping my Holy Grail/wisdom all to myself.

Still pretending to trade?

....
Would anyone be looking to mentor me for a percentage of my trading profits? Hopefully, this can be beneficial for both of us. Especially, if someone has a strategy that can easily be scaled.

Doubt any successful trader will mentor you. Money is probably the last thing on their mind.

I mean when they have millions and millions of dollar, they won't feel anything when you give them another million. They probably value their personal time spent on their interests much more than anything else. Check out CIS trader. He have made couple hundred million US dollars on trading stocks in couple years and quit. He probably sipping champagne on the beach and playing games on his laptop now. What make you think he wants to mentor you? Maybe you are a gamer. He needs you to do some complex gaming tasks. So he don't need to think how to accomplish it?

Trading is very very hard. It is not mean for most people Every time you are trading, you are trading against someone somewhere else in the world with much more skills and much understanding of the market and much more advance tech infrastructure. Develop an edge over those people will require tons of time and lucks. Certainly some people develop neurons pathways very sensitive to the market passively, which makes them a winner overtime, but very, very few people are able to do it.

The market is like a quantum dice from the universe, no one know what they will get until it settles.

A lot of people act like trading is easy if you have discipline, read books , work hard, etc....
IMO, you need a real edge to be consistent enough to trade full time. Whether that is focusing on a niche market, arbitraging, scalping, running an algo, etc.

100% plan can work well; you learn to trade + invest + keep 100%; that works better than trading only, as far as profits.
Of course if you are mainly looking for thrills, chills + spills you dont need any mentor to trade that.......................................................:caution::caution: I seldom see any here saying it's easy, not for long; it can be easy some days, but that proves my point. Wisdom is profitable to direct.

You need to find a strategy / system that fits your personality.
But I'd like to introduce you to Qullamaggie. Been an eye opener for me.

This guy has nothing to sell (Me Neither)

I'd advise you to trade stocks.
There are opportunities every year.

Don't make the mistake to trade only the ES
It's a sucker game. At least ... For me.
You can't turn shit into gold.

Go where opportunities are !!!
Don't force the trade.

Learn to assess easy dollar environments
Learn to screen for the leaders, Relative Strength
Learn to spot pivotal points, supports and resistances
Learn to spot consolidations, patterns (TA), and tightness
Learn to normalize your risk across bets
Learn to take small losses and trade close to the danger point
Learn to double down on your wining bets and let them run
Learn to turnover your wins. 10%^10 > 100%
...

In 3 months you can get the basics,
In 6 months you can have a solid implementation,
In 12 months you should be able to make money consistently.

You definitely need to trade to learn.
Start small. Get your routine set in stones.
It's all about consistency and deliberate practice.
You need rules and routine. There is no place for uncertainty.

Check out John Boik book "How Legendary Traders made Millions"

This is scalable from 1K to 1B no worries.
My PnL since I implement this all.
Risk is small (1% Max)

It's not about amazing daily returns,
It's about consistent returns over years !

The legendary traders have an Annualized return of 60% ! (Simons, Seykota, ... )
Compounded over years of trading. Don't be greedy, be patient.

If you make 5% per month in average for 10 years,
You can turn 5K into a billion.

You can make astonishing returns in a short amount of time,
But obviously you're going to give it all back !
Better be a Turtle that goes the farthest.

Have Fun.
