Captivated? I think insulted is a better word. And the real reason I felt compelled to respond to this guy is that I know that there are people here that want to learn, are perhaps too eager to learn, and can be hurt by someone like "super_ego". Many of the "traders" here (or aspiring traders) are either so eager to learn, or in some cases just so very young and impressionable that a blowhard like this guy can hurt them.
And guys like myself, and others that take our careers in trading seriously can't help but feel that this kind of bullshit not only is insulting, but it helps fuel the all too common misconception that we are collectively a bunch of know it all arrogant self promoting thugs. He (super_ego) is today's version of the guys in the 80's that inspired the fact based movie "Boiler Room". A loud mouthed self centered lout that likes the sound of his own bully mentality laced words. The louder the better. And he is NOT representative of the REAL traders that this bulletin board is supposed to be about, for, and by.

rs7,

I for one am a newbie trader.. am I eager to learn? yes. Am I sometimes too eager to learn? yes..

I visit these threads in order pick the minds of traders with much more experience than me. There are lot of blowhards here. I don't think anyone can argue that fact, but there also seems to be traders with genuine intentions also. Does SE come off as BS/BH, indeed it seems that way. He wouldn't be the first nor will he be the last i'm sure. Whether SE can come through with what he claims remains to be seen. But if I learn something that I think can help me, then good for me.

I hope other newbie traders like me take advice on these threads with a grain of salt. Investigations are needed to see if any info learned anywhere will be useful. If I were to bungie jump, I would make sure the band were secure on both ends and that it was tested to at least a 3/8 retracement or preferably a 5/8 before the plunge.(sorry couldn't resist)

One does not always know the intentions of some threads. Take your very excellent thread. When you hyped it, most did not know your motives either but it turned out to be one of the most informative and useful threads I have seen here (imo) and I am trying to implement what you have shared to see if it fits my style.

I appreciate that there are traders like yourself that are looking out for newbies, but as we have seen, these threads have a funny way of exposing the blowhards. What this thread turns out to be remains to be seen.

Keep up the good informative posts.. I enjoy them.

rs7,

In a previous message here I asked SE : "don't u think that others could be using different, yet profitable tools too ? Why does it sound like everybody else is wrong, and you're the ONLY one with the ONLY profitable tool(s) ? *just wondering*"

I guess everyone here already can tell the difference between your style and his ... we're talking about the difference between honesty and arrogancy ...

I know for a fact that it takes a trader many (and I really mean MANY) years to realize that there's no ONE method to make money in this market ... and I guess many more to admit it :) so by now we already know where he stands as a trader ...

I, personally, prefer to give him more time and chance to express himself and say it all before I judge whether his method is one of the MANY profitable tools or not ... but rest assured that if it's not, we'll have some fun here like we did on that other thread called "The market has bottomed ... trend is up" .... remember a guy called LUNDY ? LOL ...

rs7, please keep posting ... you're the most popular I can tell in ET ... Keep it up !

P.S. I sent you a PM, please get back to me on this issue ... thanks !

i think there is a great lesson to learn in this thread. THERE ARE NO GURU'S!!!! the guys that are making the real money are usually the one's that you have to pull information out of. ego's are usually red flag's that should be saying RUN, don't walk away from this guy!!!!! it is the same dynamic as in golf, i.e. the one's that are always so quick to offer advice, most of the time unsolicited, are the one's who have trouble breaking 90. the guys breaking par usually keep their mouths shut!!! my favorite golf advice cliche is, "you looked up, keep your head down." maybe this thread should be renamed "keep your head down"!!!

I think you're right about "keeping your head down". BTW... "ego's way is the ONLY way" (various MAs)?... I don't use MAs at all in daytrading. But then, I don't trade 20-50 times per day. I'm only looking for what are in my mind, 2-3 tradable set-ups/day in the SP.

I, for one, am waiting for the program to resume. I want to hear the whole thing and then decide if there is something I can use.

Thanks for the 7/5 chart from bigcharts.com. What I can't see for that day is where the 40 comes in but do see where the 5 and 20 would figure in the lesson.

I'm back. I have been experiencing router problems and I got a guy to come out and fix the issue. He replaced my router and it cost me a grip. Nevertheless, the fun continues...

The Kimble issue:

I got knocked offline just as I read the post on kimble being arrested for insider trading. He is a greedy little s.o.b.. I appologize for not looking into his situation in detail before suggesting it and I thank the ET poster who brought this to my attention and to the attention of all the other readers. Enough about this....

If ego is soo good why doesn't he have a large prop group? I'm sure the market can pay them for their efforts.

Some one out there must have hurt Super Ego's ego

To all who feel insulted:

Leave and go to the umpteen thousand boards on ET that will keep you trading nickles and dimes for the rest of your short-lived careers. Fine by me. But, you know as well as I do that you will pop your wistful little minds in and out of this board more than a few times.

SE,
