What happens if Fannie is nationalised? Does that make all privately owned stock worthless?

they will value it less than the shareholders.

same as with bear stearns.

best to own the actual debt.

they will have to honour that obviously.

as for going long the shares of fannie/freddie - forget it.

the longer the fed wait to bail them out the further the shares will sink.

this weekend perhaps or any day soon.

fannie and freddie gonig under is the end of wall st and game over.
