Back in the 90s I taught excalation management for a bit at a corporation. One of the lessons was on "the tape recorder technique" where you would repeat what you want over and over until eventually it sunk in to the customer.

I used to live very near one of the guys who drove a tank into Joburg airport back when apartheid was ending. He disagreed with the whole thing.

He was very intelligent and funny but wow.. he hated the hell out of me because I was whiter than him and he could not convince me of his beliefs. I would say to him in 20 years with genetic editing it would become meaningless. Still very civil fellow like a lot of cons, they would put a bullet in your brain but very civil in the street.
