Illinois, it's about to get interesting

oops just realized we're not talking about Michigan

Sorry dude, we were reminiscing..... on a more related note i hate michael moore, and michigan is a complete and utter train wreck, 30 years of liberals and unions pushing manufacturing overseas didnt end well.

Apparently the UAW doesnt have much negotiating power when their replacement is a robot, or a chinese person willing to work for 2 bucks a day.

Yeah, the guy's deranged even if his heart is in the right place. I'm not a fan of hijacking a serious topic and then peddling half truths, no matter which side is peddling. A shame really, because the guy has the money and audience to approach the subjects objectively.

Americans need to realize that complacency is for the 50's. When the whole world is capitalistic, you're no longer competing w/a single Joe Schmo in the corner and you better have the know-how to make yourself valuable when that cushy job is gone.

I agree with what you said here bottom line its a race to the bottom, me and Clubber werent talking about something irrelevant, it was very relevant to the conversation, because we have seen these fiascos before. Illinois will push the debt off to another day the federal government (most likely the fed) will bail illinois out and everything will be awesome again. People can fight it all they want but until there is some kind of parity between western nations, and third world nations, wages and lifestyle will continue to plummet here while it goes up over there, its just the reality of living in a world that is so connected.

We were talking about those muni defaults before because its the same situation.

But yeah its a race to the bottom now, whoever can build shit the cheapest gets to sell shit for nothing while everyone suffers.

My grand theory of the economy is that we are seeing the greatest "Wage arbitrage/transfer of wealth" in the western world in history. Our standard of living will continue to collapse while china and indias goes up until there is balance. People dont want to accept that, but that is what is happening.

Its like being able to buy a stock on the NYSE while its trading at a much higher price on the TSX, it only lasts so long until people figure it out, these days it doesnt even happen cause everyone has taken that opportunity and arbed it to death, and with this many eye balls on it the gap closes very quickly.
