Illinois Becomes First State to Eliminate Cash Bail

Get ready for the crime rate to go up.... just like it did in Durham, N.C. when they eliminated cash bail for most offenses. Shootings, violence, murders, robberies, etc. -- all went up immediately. Criminals that would normally be locked up in jail awaiting trial were out on the street committing more crimes.
source?

And knowing that they have a free reign to continue acting poorly (jail is a deterrent for obvious reasons) they will encourage more such behavior.

When it is at the top of the local news every night it is a trend and not just a one-time anecdote.
My opinion is that eliminating cash bail is a disaster for the safety of a community.
check your news source for narrative pushing bias.

When every local station is reporting the same thing -- including WRAL which has an obvious left-wing bias -- it is not a bias question.
We don't restrict peoples' rights on the consequences of restoring those rights (cue mass shootings & the 2nd & minimal voter fraud on lax voter ID laws).
