As I hear it, foreigners come in under refugee status, are apparently paid a lot of money for support every month, and are then allowed to bring their families over. Lots of Canucks oppose it because these families get enough money from the government to bid up local housing prices, and/or get a head start in business that the natives don't get.
yes, isn't that the problem? If you make your country or your state or your neighborhood attactive, the people who were already living there get priced out of the rental market. Maybe they need help under the "Rental Refugee Act." or you could just do it my way and give everybody a housing voucher, same voucher for everybody, no means testing (it's an old Milton Freidman idea)
I worked on a state IT project about 8 years back (one of my few non-banking projects). It was a state system that covered enrollment of low income children for free state medical care. Over half the entries in the system had no social security numbers for the parents - meaning the parents were not legal residents of the U.S. Keep in mind the mothers also get free pre-birth maternity care and the birth is also paid for.
What further amazes me is that these ku*#s will complain if there aren't interpreters! And Americans will give in, make bilinguality a requirement for working in the hospitals and the Mexicans then take over the jobs! I lived in CA until I couldn't stand it anymore. America doesn't exist there in a lot of places, it's Mexico complete with ignoramuses playing loud shitty music and letting their kids scream and yell in restaurants, cars cobbled together out of junk yards and drivers with no licenses or training. Every f%^king Mexican gives Whites a dirty look everywhere they encounter them, it's maddening after awhile...
don't confuse Mexicans with Cities. You go out to the country in Mexico and it is just like going to the Waltons. Everybody is honest, (how could they not be? everybody knows everybody) and will help anybody who needs it, even if you speak no Spanish and they speak no English. But the closer you get to the city (any city anywhere in the world) the more the problems increase.
