Roy Ortiz, an illegal immigrant living in Colorado, was recently rescued from dangerous flood waters by first responders. Now Ortiz, who barely speaks English, is thinking about suing them because "mistakes were made." The argument? Rescuers failed to get him out of a submerged car fast enough and now he's having bad dreams. Ortiz is demanding $500,000 in damages which if awarded, would be paid out by taxpayers.

Reminds me of when I was in a 4 car rear end smashup, several years ago. Traffic was stopped on a bridge and some dingbat rear ended me. Totalled my car, which smashed into the guy in front of me, whose car also moved forward slightly and tapped car # 4.

My car was a wreck of crumpled metal, the guy in front had a classic MG roadster that got dented pretty bad, car 4 was not visibly damaged. Funny thing was, out of all of us, that guy at the very front was the only one who claimed serious injuries (LOL).

Same exact ethnicity. We're traders here, we live and die in the markets by studying correlations.................. :eek:

*edit - can we fine these lawyers who bring frivolous lawsuits to court? They have no downside risk, as it now stands, to take in these delusional clients who think they deserve to win the lottery.

I thought the "Good Samaritan Act" prevented such frivolous law suits?
