Illegal Immigrant kills cop in the Sanctuary State of California

So if we go after employers, how do we take care of the other 63% of illegals in the country?

63% of Non-Citizen Households Access Welfare Programs

Among the findings:

    • In 2014, 63 percent of households headed by a non-citizen reported that they used at least one welfare program, compared to 35 percent of native-headed households.
    • Welfare use drops to 58 percent for non-citizen households and 30 percent for native households if cash payments from the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) are not counted as welfare. EITC recipients pay no federal income tax. Like other welfare, the EITC is a means-tested, anti-poverty program, but unlike other programs one has to work to receive it.
    • Compared to native households, non-citizen households have much higher use of food programs (45 percent vs. 21 percent for natives) and Medicaid (50 percent vs. 23 percent for natives).
    • Including the EITC, 31 percent of non-citizen-headed households receive cash welfare, compared to 19 percent of native households. If the EITC is not included, then cash receipt by non-citizen households is slightly lower than natives (6 percent vs. 8 percent).

So these welfare benefits are mostly households with American children in them. Things like free and reduced school lunch programs.

It is an issue that does not have a clean solution. But what will not happen is the deportation of American children to countries of their parents birth.

I advocate for a pathway to citizenship for those persons who have been resident for a period of five years and in good standing, meaning no criminal activity and good employment history.

Arnie and others make good points. It's wide reaching and requires a broad based solutions, most of them unpopular with both parties. There is border security and then there's the illegal immigrant problem, two separate issues. The border must have better security AND we must remove the carrots(plural)that attract all the illegals, AND we must find a more expeditious way to process people through the system. Right now we are stuck on the easiest part, improving border security. If we cannot even agree on that, how the hell do we make any progress on the much tougher and more complicated aspects? Hence the never ending DC circle jerk.

Wow, no criminal activity and good employment history.

Three quarters of your party cannot even meet those requirements.

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry at something like this from a guy that defends Donald Trump 50 times a day.

He's uneducated and wears it proudly on here. I'm not sure in the information age how people stay that ignorant but an alarming number of Americans do it seems if this site is any indication. Not sure what is worse, these uneducated guys like TreeFrog or the psuedo intellectual types like Gwb_Trading or TJustice/Jem that lack common sense. I suspect the latter are more dangerous to the health of a nation ( e.g. Trump ).

Reality and facts take a holiday far too much in current day US, superceded by overdone political themes and trying to "win" the internet or influence others. This is why the US despite it's resources continues to have mediocre social programs and far too much poverty and crime. Too much denial to tackle the problems and too much pride to even consider looking at what nations like Canada did decades ago successfully in certain areas like health care.

Just another example of Nine Ender pouring on fact free hate in the forum.
