Trump wants Sessions to investigate New York Times op-ed

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump said Friday he wants Attorney General Jeff Sessions to investigate and uncover the identity of the senior administration official who penned an anonymous op-ed in The New York Times this week.

"Yeah, I would say Jeff should be investigating who the author of this piece was because I really believe it's national security," Trump told reporters Friday aboard Air Force One.

"we want the administration to succeed. ... But we believe our first duty is to this country, and the president continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic."

"That is why many Trump appointees have vowed to do what we can to preserve our democratic institutions while thwarting Mr. Trump's more misguided impulses until he is out of office."

The author writes, "The root of the problem is the president's amorality. Anyone who works with him knows he is not moored to any discernible first principles that guide his decision making."

Trump was elected as a Republican, but "the president shows little affinity for ideals long espoused by conservatives," the official wrote. "President Trump's impulses are generally anti-trade and anti-democratic."

Shows you how messed up this administration is.

Trump says he was worried that Jared Kushner or Hope Hicks or Mike Lee was ‘Anonymous’

President Donald Trump attacked the “Anonymous” White House official that attacked him in a New York Times op-ed and in an extensive tell-all book.

Former Homeland Security official Miles Taylor came out on Wednesday, saying officially that he was “Anonymous.”

At the Phoenix Goodyear Airport, Trump told a rally crowd that Taylor was a “sleaze bag” and “This guy, in my opinion, should be prosecuted.” Trump didn’t seem to know what crime it was Taylor committed, but he still wanted to see the former official prosecuted for something.

Trump confessed that he was worried it was someone like “Hope Hicks, Jared Kushner, Mike Lee, or Rand Paul” who were secretly attacking him from the inside.

It flies in the face of previous statements in which Trump claimed he “knew” who “Anonymous” was.

“I know who it is,” Trump told reporters in February. “I can’t tell you that. We won’t get into it.”

Did you listen to the interview on CNN, or read the articles about him and his position in the Trump administration? If you have not, then please do so.

I've read articles on it, I did not listen to (nor do I really ever listen to) anything on CNN.

But all the claims/revelations have already been made, have they not? All that came out was a guy who previously claimed to not be the source is now saying he is the source.

He wrote originally that he would eventually disclose his identity but would for a time deny it. He explained why he did this in the interview. And he was not a low-level, coffee-getting employee, as Trump always claims of his dissenters. He spoke of others of similar and higher rank who feel the same way. Several of those people already came out on their own. You may not like CNN, but you should listen to the man's own words as he tells it. It's pretty shocking stuff to hear.

OK, but other than the man's identity, has anything else come out that was not previously speculated upon?
