If you were 21 again - what would you do ?

I was 21 in 1999....... If I could go back and give myself some advice, it would be to pick up some trading subscriptions way back then and jump in with both feet. Back then I was already reading the Motley Fool, just didn't have any exposure to real traderz.

I'd probably be a millionaire by now. :eek:

*edit - and I'd forget engineering school. Good career if you're a natural minion, but in my case.... ain't workin out :(
 
I am a successful energy trader, have worked for multiple energy companies and traded on the NYMEX floor, I am 42 years old. As crazy as this may sound, if I could be 21 again in 1992 I would join the Navy and try out for special warfare. I agree that trading serves nobody and is a very selfish profession. A life of service is much more fufilling, even if it means not having a lot of money. It has been my one regret for many years. I love adventure, I love to skydive, I love to shoot, I love to run and race, and I have a very strong sense of adventure that does not get fulfilled by trading. I will say this, if I had to serve now at this time as 21 years old under Obama I definitely would not want to be in this military. The current leadership of this country has failed its citizens. Whether you agree with me or not, you must respect those that serve currently, because they sacrifice a lot.
 
Don Quixote set out on life's adventure to slay dragons. Oh yes, there are plenty of dragons around still. They cut down the planet's forests for dirty bucks, pollute the oceans through carelessness etc. etc.

Not worrying too much about buying certain stocks etc and of course its all for fun, but a friend put this to a bunch of us when we were mid 30s and ultimately we decided if you dont do today what you know you could have done back then.....well then you probably would not do it then for the same reasons you are not doing it now.
