If you had only 1 hour to look at a financial statement, what would you glance at?

Revenue growth and profit margin.
Rule of 40.
Works well when looking at high flying tech, from the standpoint of what the "big money" will pay up for so one can theoretically coattail buying a paper tiger that won't be profitable for the next 5 years at a minimum.

If you're looking for momentum stocks then growth of sales and operating income. If you are looking at distressed companies then EBIT/Interest Expense and Debt/EBITDA.

With one hour you can pretty much look at all financial statements for a number of years. But if I had to look at just one thing I would look at Retained Earnings/Accumulated Deficit

Why do I see companies that are growing revenue and EPS by like 40% but stock doesn't go anywhere? Is EPS really the real deal?

Growing revenue and EPS at 40%?
So 100% net margin?
Which company?
Throw VZ a bone.
