For the benefit of anyone else trying to follow this up, I checked out the link to the rothko and the only person with a phd that I can find is Kaleigh Smith who is a she, not a "he". Having scoured the links to other pages, and even KS's thesis I can't find any reference to a dream or music. Maybe, since the original posting, the info at the end of the links have changed.
