Quote from Brucelee:
We would still live in Thailand if it wasn't for the trading hours, I trade ES. And since the authorities are tightening up on the fake corporations, set up to own land and houses its even less of an option for us. We also have a young child now, which makes schooling and growing up a concern. As far as food, scenery and cost of living etc, its really hard to beat. But, as this thread is about IF you could live anywhere I would chose the Netherlands, because of the schooling, health care, and family. We plan to do this in the future.
I like the Netherlands too Bruce. Amsterdam was the first European city I visited. Lots of fun and culture too.
Honestly the only reason I could not live there is the weather, which when I was there in Sept., it was quite overcast, rainy, and cold. Same for the UK and Ireland, weather wise. Nice places, nice ppl., but the weather, can't do it. Too much like the Pacific Northwest. I need more sunshine, but that's just me.
