If you bought Bitcoin on Friday, you have lost almost 28%

Right, so if you had to choose one thing to store your monetary value in, what would it be? The choice is obviously gold for me.
Something that I could use to give to someone else in exchange for goods and services. Gold ingot somehow just doesn't fit the bill for my morning bowl of Corn Flakes.

I am not sure if you are living on planet Earth, but gold is used as a currency. Gold has physical properties that make it an accepted store of value. Please read a history book.

It is possible bitcoin may become dominant, but there is no way it can ever overcome physics.

Outside of electronics, gold has little industrial use. Silver has way more industrial use. Its value is in being pretty

Then keep some of your money in a fiat currency for its easy transactional value. Keep the rest in gold and sell some gold when you need more fiat.

I looked a bit at physical gold and didn't find it a particulary great store of value, especially if one get to live in different places. It is heavy, probably problematic to take through borders in any quantity above personal jewellery, and not all countries seem to offer good places for retail folks to sell it back without getting butchered.
Banks in some countries offer one to buy gold bars and keep them in safehouses, it might be a good solution especially if the safehouse is in a warehouse in international zone to ease customs issue when one wants to take their gold with them, but costs appear higher than buying something like GLD or rolling over GC contracts. Curious on the best deals for private people to buy a few (or more) kilos of gold, and how they can later transport and resell it.

Bitcoin, eat your heart out, this is why we love gold, it is sooooo shiny:

Nah. Found absolutely no need for the shiny useless stuff. Leaves more for the obsessors, tinfoil hat end of time wearers and central banksters.

Central bankers hate gold, or they pretend it doesn't exist.

If you don't have any gold in your portfolio, you have no regard for the lessons of history.
