If you are making 1 MM per year, buy your own damn sandwich

I am disappointed in y'all!

Ross Perot (remember him? A TRUE billionaire, and a TRUE Republican) made a rule that if you'd be fired if you cheated on your wife. WHY?

Because, if you are going to lie and cheat to the most important person in your life, you will probably steal, lie and cheat from your employer as well.

After thinking about it, the bank might have shot itself in the foot. If the dude was making 1 MM with bonuses, he must have made a ton of money FOR THE BANK. So let's say the sandwich is $10 and he stole 1000. That is only 10K loss and he made probably a thousand times more for the bank.

So who is the real loser in the story? They could have just fined his ass for 5K or whatever and everybody would have been happier.

It depends on the circumstances.
Did he steal it, or did he honestly think that his position allowed him to help himself to a free lunch in the lunch room?
How long was he working there, a week or a year?

If the guy knew he was suppose to pay for the lunch and took it anyhow, it's stealing.
If the guy is a trader, then he has the potential cost the company a lot of money if he escalates his behavior.
Remember Nick Leeson? He made unauthorized trades and bankrupted Barings Bank.
Those memories are probably fresh in their minds and decided to cut their losses early.

it's illegal to fire someone because you believe he divorced his wife.. it's none of the companies business. it's wrongful dismissal..it's the law. employees are now a a liability. people like Ross and many CEO think employees are 'slaves' and they own them. That is the Americans still have that owner and slave mentality and it comes to their treatment of employees. in corporate america. employees are treated like slaves and customers are treated like prey and sheep to ripped off and slaugthered and targets you know what i'm saying.

Yet millions of people would like to immigrate America.

Where do you come up with your malarkey? From your friends who never have done a honest day's labor? From your college classmates who never had to worry about food on their table? From your left wing college professors who cannot make it in private industry? Likely all of the above.

The basic rule of Texas employment law is employment at will, which applies to all phases of the employment relationship - it means that absent a statute or an express agreement (such as an employment contract) to the contrary, either party in an employment relationship may modify any of the terms or conditions of employment, or terminate the relationship altogether, for any reason, or no particular reason at all, with or without advance notice.

So Ross Perot could have fired anyone for virtually any reason.
