If Tea Partiers are such deluded fools, why are they doing so well?

Quote from Gabfly1:

Similarly, it's easy for deluded fools to congregate in an arrogantly confident manner for a "cause" they arguably do not adequately comprehend, and which will potentially affect their own well-being adversely.

The fact of the matter is you lefties reach the same conclusion about any congregation that happens to differ with your views. You conclude they are all deluded fools, racists, extremists, and so on.

I find it amusing that you, of all people, have the balls to call any group or individual arrogant. Your arrogance is only matched by the politicians in our country that you seem to have such a passion for.

It is interesting that the portion of your comment I quoted might very well be an adequate description of the Democrat party, and the potential result of tonight’s election is the adverse effect on their well being.

ZINGER!

The Gayfly doth protest too much, methinks. :p

Backpedal and bullshit all you want but you're not hiding this back in the closet; it nails you EXACTLY.

Quote from Gayfly:

Your complete lack of comprehension regarding the import of my potato story is hardly surprising. Analogously, Livermore, as Livingston in Lefevre's Reminiscences said, "In big bull markets the plain adulterated sucker, utterly ignorant of rules and precedents, buys blindly because he hopes blindly. He makes most of the money [i.e., the biggest potatoes] -- until one of the healthy reactions takes it away from him at one fell swoop." Remember that line? I added the potato reference to better help you connect the dots. Are the dots beginning to connect?

Here's another analogy if you think you can handle it. Robert Harris wrote in his book, Lustrum, "...he possessed that most attractive form of courage: the bravery of a nervous man. After all, any rash fool can be a hero if he sets no value on his life, or hasn't the wit to appreciate the danger..." Similarly, it's easy for deluded fools to congregate in an arrogantly confident manner for a "cause" they arguably do not adequately comprehend, and which will potentially affect their own well-being adversely. So why, then, should a large wave of fools come as a surprise?

Quote from Gabfly1:

No, just farther away from the nerd section of the party.
You attend nerd parties?

That explains a lot.

Quote from Gabfly1:

As my father once told me, and his father told him, the biggest potatoes usually grow for the stupidest farmers.
Did your dad's potatoes make it into the Guinness book of world records?

Nah... his dad would have had a lousy crop and would have rationalized it and comforted himself by calling the farmers with large potatoes "stupid." You can see from Gayfly's posts that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. :p

People who have very little to say have a tendency to fixate. It's really win-win. They think they're impressing their friends and, in the process, are revealing to everyone their true nature and the extent of their arrested development. Keep digging. You're making real progress.
