None of the European Union soyboys and soygirls are going to do squat. All of them would be shaking in fear the moment Vladimir Putin threatens to cut their natural gas supplies. Germany knows this and have chose to keep their mouths shut and not join the chorus to hit at Russia which supplies 35% of Europe's natural gas supplies. As for the US, Russia will probably, with the connivance of the Saudis and OPEC will keep production low to keep oil prices high. That should be enough to damage the US economy even further on top of the huge inflation we already have. Not to beat to death this bit about Germany being co-opted and being a Vlad bootlicker, but the signs just keep surfacing. There are some serious Putin apologists and teamplayers in high places in Germany.
A while back I made a side comment that "Angela's soviet upbringing shows a bit too much sometimes to me" or similar, and Usual Tard accused me of being conspiratorial or some contorted remark. Really? I am saying the Germans play on Team Russia a bit too much for my comfort and I stand by that. Vlad has done his homework in regard to Germany. He has them in a nice place.

The head of the German navy has resigned over controversial comments he made over Ukraine.
Kay-Achim Schönbach said the idea that Russia wanted to invade Ukraine was nonsense. He added that all President Vladimir Putin wanted was respect.
A number of countries have supplied weapons to Ukraine, including the US and UK. But Germany has refused Ukraine's request for ammunition.
Russia has denied claims that it is planning to invade Ukraine.
But President Putin has issued demands to the West which he says concern Russia's security, including that Ukraine be stopped from joining the military defence alliance Nato.
He also wants Nato to abandon military exercises and stop sending weapons to eastern Europe, seeing this as a direct threat to Russia's security.
In the video, Mr Schönbach said Mr Putin needed to be treated as an equal by the West.
"It is easy to give him the respect he really demands - and also probably deserves," he said.
He added that the Crimean peninsula, which Russia annexed in 2014, "is gone and will never come back".
Ukraine's foreign ministry described Mr Schönbach's comments as "categorically unacceptable".

I read a while back we were coordinating with gas suppliers throughout Europe to reroute and increase production in the event there’s disruption. Last I heard that was going slow but that was like 2 weeks back.
Now it seems to be the meta that Europe cannot survive without Russian gas but that is not true. It’s the cost of Russian gas is cheaper is the issue.

Russia has announced missile tests off the coast of Ireland in the first week of February. I expect as they have to come across marshes to take Kiev from Belarus, the timing is thaw dependent. These tests in a place they don't normally operate is a show for negotiation.
