Boehner moves to punish dissenters, despite past statements
Isn't it interesting to see the modern R party in action. They get elected by a large part of the conservative base, then say "fuck you". This happened in 2010. It happened again. Cromnibus was a move to make concessions to the left, the cronies, and the corporatists BEFORE the newly elected members were seated. Boehner new this, and even lied to some about doing a CR if they sided with him, but then after gaining their support, went with the entire omnibus, funding many of the things the wave electorate did NOT want funded.
I am reminded by his actions that he and his ilk hates conservatives and libertarians as much as the left does. Why was CNN, Pelosi, and even Obama so happy that his vote didn't go to a second round? Watching this leadership reminds me of how vicious Romney's attacks were on Newt. Moderates hate conservatives, and this latest action may be the one that destroys the republican party. No base, no party. Look at the last two elections. Look how many conservatives stayed home...twice. Obama should have easily been defeated, but moderates are showing themselves to be only slightly different then their counterparts on the other side of the isle, and the conservative base sees that, and in increasing numbers, are refusing to vote for them. I will be including myself in the next election if Romney or someone similar is on top of the ticket.
I applaud Boehner for learning to fight like the left does. It's only too bad he directs his new found vigor at the conservatives (something he once was, before he was bought and paid for), instead of at the left who he is supposed to be fighting, not compromising with. Fuck bi-partisanship. That went out the door with the radicalization of the dem party.
As my favorite constitutionalist says, why should we vote for those who support bi-partisanship in the pursuit of tyranny?
