I know all about this.I am not a fan of abortion, what Trump said back then before he changed to suit is goals (OMG) mirrors my own feelings. I have given homeless women and girls financial support via charities here, enough to allow them to keep the child at lest a few times. I am a capitalist monster but I do get directly involved, I don't just pay for 5k charity ball seats etc.
I have however seen both sides of the coin and believe that ultimately it is the decision of the woman. I don't believe that US cons are sincere, abortion is just a talking point and few could give one shit about it in reality, especially if it helped keep the brown/black population in check.

Rand was intelligent and a partial psychopath, I don't think that is disputed by anyone who has seen her biography and read her work. School shooters are also partial psychopaths (male, the dangerous kind) but far lower IQ and of course many probably were developing schizophrenia.
She is an excellent example of something, role model for normal healthy minds? Not so much.

You do realize that that a minimum of 34% of Republicans support abortion. A majority (54%) of moderate Republicans support abortion. Note that 22% of Democrats oppose abortion under all circumstances.
I support abortion simply because the alternative is going back to the era of women have abortions done in shady back-alley establishments. I would urge any woman pregnant with an unwanted child to explore other alternatives before having an abortion.

I am a natural conservative. Republican's are something else now, no longer even close to a group with shared values. So I'm not going to fall for broad stats arguments and specifics the next.
Liberals don't want abortions as some kind of recreational activity/ feminazi right of passage. There are some nutcases, there are more on the right.
Basically about 8-12% of the population are poindexters, utterly ducked up extremists.

You should really look into the percentage of the population in Ireland who are anti-abortion extremists -- much higher than the U.S.
First of all, I'm no "Cons". I'm a libertarian. Second and most important of all, she didn't say anything in favor of government being able to tell people if they can or can't have and bear guns. What she DID spend her entire life doing was defending personal liberty and praising the foundation principles of the U.S. which is the constitution. And that document states very clearly that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
She dedicated her life to show that government should be the least possible because of it's natural tendency to become tyrannical and given that the american revolution basically happened because the people had arms to defend themselves and Ayn Rand came from the USSR, there is no doubt that even though she may think it is "a complex issue", giving the power to the government to disarm citizens and they be the sole bearers of guns would not be an option, much less a solution for anything.
And she said clearly that the individual has the right to defende himself and realizing the fact that people who are willing to break the law by killing will have no problem breaking the law by illegaly buying a gun and will stop at nothing until they get that gun, taking away guns from people who fight for the right to carry them legally is pretty stupid, because if they are concerned about not being able to carry it legally, that means they would respect this minor law by not carrying, which means they obviously respect a much more important law: not to kill.
So, in the end, they will loose their right to defend themselves, which means this actually goes against what she was saying.
And the ones who are willing to break the law in it's worse form(murder) will do it anyway, since someone who is willing to murder has absolutely NO RESPECT FOR ANY LAW WHATSOEVER.
