I think so too. Of course even Buffett and his team can't predict the future so they have to have some exposure long. Just like every other PM out there. That's why it's important to pick quality in the event of a sharp decline; and why I went with WMT. Plus, I think it's undervalued if the indexes do in fact continue to rise. Best of both worlds. But now that you bring it up, I would be curious to see how their current ratio of stocks to cash (and equivalents) stacks up against their historic ratio.Speaking of Mr. Buffett, I'd pick his company (BRK.B) if I had to pick only 1 for the next 2 years.
I think the markets could be quite a bit lower at some point over the next 2 years so let some experienced money managers pick the bargains from the rubble with their large pile of cash.
Diversification would come from all the companies within Berkshire.

...
I think the first time I actually cared enough to look at BRK-A... it was like $11,500. I was like wtf?!
That was unheard of back then. At least to me.
Last time I looked it was almost 1/2 million.![]()
lolThey're in a big doo doo.
...Gens X, Y, and Z are too stupid to care. As long as they got that phone.![]()
If you were born from 61-81 yer a Gen X-er. That is the generally-accepted time period to define the Gen-X. And I do not think you are over the age of 62. Yer a Gen-X! AHAHHA! Doesn't matter though, there's stupid in every gen.I had to use ATM recently, first time in 2 or 3 months. Other then that it's always the visa mastercard.lol
Don't they make ATM machines?
Those things will go the way of the dinosaurs here pretty soon as the powers that be run a cash-free world order down our throats. Gens X, Y, and Z are too stupid to care. As long as they got that phone.![]()
1964 is the tail end of the Boomers there Mr. Semantics.OK boomer. If you were born from 61-81 yer a Gen X-er. That is the generally-accepted time period to define the Gen-X. And I do not think you are over the age of 62. Yer a Gen-X! AHAHHA! Doesn't matter though, there's stupid in every gen.

Lets leave politics out of it.there's stupid in every gen.

Lets leave politics out of it.
Went right over your head. You brought it up, not me...
"Gens X, Y, and Z are too stupid to care. As long as they got that phone..."
It is not political, it is simply a statement of fact. There is stupid in every gen.
Hey on that #3 regarding DG... I understand what you mean in reference to the narrow aisles, but what I was talking about are aisles that are cluttered/blocked with inventory in containers (the stuff that comes off the semi's) sitting in the aisles, sometimes for weeks. I'm not kidding.#3 is a marketing tactic. Those stores are dingy because it makes people feel like they are finding a bargain. Walmart has wide aisles to make people feel like the store has everything you would want.
Walmart has been figuring how to monetize tech for decades. They haven’t figured it out. It feels like a relic that is succeeding on historical dominance and size alone (like they are Europe and Amazon is China). This may not matter for all the reasons you cited.
I won’t bet against you, Zandy.
