If I am doing option research at Fidelity or Schwab...Are they selling the information to someone??

Not really paranoid, just curious...

Like to a MM...This guy is doing research on these options, this date. Give me a twentieth of a cent...

Say, looking for future trades tomorrow. I usually do basic research at Yahoo Finance...Then the day of, look where the bid/ask is on that option.

So I started to look at covered calls at Fidelity. I am sure they track my movement (really don't know why). But do they sell it to anyone else, what options I am looking at, but have not put in a bid/ask at this time...

Would a MM be interested in this information or am I so small that they just wait for my ticket to gain PFOF.

I am sure an insurance company (annuity) would LOVE to find me.
 
No broker is going to share your movements online with anyone. The DMM has no idea what you are doing until you send an order. Even then, they are fully automated and do not care about any single small order.

are they tracking the results you come up with, (when you find something valuable) they sell that info to someone?

surely i am mistaken...

I understand about the fully automated...But I may question not wanting to see the small order. Was thinking if I put in a ask on a covered call this evening (market closed), would Fidelity/Schwab's MMs see it before the opening of the markets?? I may be wrong, but I believe they do...Part of PFOF. They have to, because it is part of creating the option market (however small)...

I'm going to drop out of this conversation. You started a thread in the Option forum. Now you are pointing out insurance products. I'm lost. Nothing on this page makes sense to me. I can't help.
