If Canadian politics is leading indicator for the US, the republicans are in trouble

I know that the exchange rate has little to do with government. But don't tell Ricter this... I was just trolling him. :)
You do a lot of trolling here. Anyway, government policy does have an effect on a currency's value. And Harper's contractionary policy did nothing to offset the plunge in Canadian commodity prices.

"Balanced budget!" Harper, you idiot.

Actually I don't do much trolling. Most of my comments are serious (or am I just trolling again).

However I will admit the Canadian exchange rate comment was solely put out there to get a reaction from you.

P.S. Do you know why most Canadians are celebrating today?

Because the Blue Jays won last night.

Personally, I cannot wait to see Canada go full blown liberal. Let's see all the success that comes. Maybe it'll become a utopia, and some moonbats here will be tempted to move up north.
Meanwhile, your utopia awaits in the state of Kansas. Tell Brownback and Laffer that I said hi.

Another Krugman disciple. If energy price weakness detracts from current gdp, no probs! Just borrow some gdp from the future! Run huge budget deficits. Then when the future comes and gdp has already been pilfered ten years ago, blame it on the conservatives who are then in orifice.

Yeah we all know that the best way for canada to drive the price of oil back up to 100 is to just spend more money, what a brilliant plan for the economy the liberals have.
