I would say those tests provided some valuable information...no?
You are confusing the case mortality rate which is 6% with the infection mortality rate which is 0.7%. Note that both numbers at this point are estimates.
Whether it is the flu or COVID-19 the number of infections is always greater than the reported cases.

We don’t know the true #’s of people that have it and weren’t tested yet . All we know is the # of people who’ve tested positive vs died from it . Were not mentioned the 10’s if thousands of people that will have long term long problems either .
