recently i saw "the sixth sense" for the first time. the psychologist was indeed totally useless to the little guy. but when he suddenly got it, he was actually of great help. nice twist at the end by the way.

I was out walking and hunting quail, once.
Came to a road named, Quail Run Lane.
It really freaked me out so I got back to my car within seconds and left that place.

'Idiot-Savant' is no longer the politically correct term, of course. "Asperger's" is the modern name for the phenomenon, where a person can be so unusually talented at specific numbers-based tasks like code breaking, software engineering, and perhaps... trading?
After seeing one INTP after another in the Myers-Briggs threads, I wouldn't be surprised if many of these traders are actually full blown keepers of The Gift and The Curse
Think you might be one yourself? Take this test and find out!

Quote from Rearden Metal:
*sigh*??? Andrew? You've been a close friend for quite a few years now, and you know my personality and my life inside out.
Would you <b>really</b> wish to trade your will to live and your happiness- in exchange for a life of material riches... accompanied by constant torment, discomfort, burning rage and frustration, and insane hypersensitivity to many assorted sights and sounds?
Would you like to have spent the past six years <b>not once ever</b> setting foot in a movie theater, since any one of the hundreds of audience members has the power to ruin your entire moviegoing experience by just talking loudly, jangling his keys, chewing loudly,or 50 possible other movie ruining distractions?
Would a couple mil in your pocket really be worth the price of becoming physically/mentally ill nearly every time you're exposed to warm temperatures (indoors or out)? Being unable to sit down in public places unless your back is to the wall, thus preventing the dreaded feeling of people walking behind you? Would these few million bucks be worth the price of inadvertently fucking up most of your friendships and romantic relationships?
Just be careful what you wish for...

32. Hope your right about pattern recognition being usefull.

I scored 38. Unfortunately, I don't think it is a well designed test. Anybody who likes patterns and has social anxiety disorder would score high. BTW, do you guys know that Simon Baron-Cohen is the uncle of the comedian Ali-G? I read that somewhere. I believe he also attributes autism to what he calls the "primitive male brain."
