Van Can Make A lot Of Money Today.
1- NVGT is going to be down big.. This works perfect for me I have sold 1/2 just yesterday in a stroke of luck but i am going to buy it right back today! - There is a patent story and really it's no big deal this stk can be pushed around crazy so it will be a very good buy at the open.
What is the patent story -- Well for one thing it's NVGT suing someone else and losing for copying their tech they will appeal etc. But the bigger point this patent is coming off in 2022 anyway and by the time anybody gears up and produces anything the patent will have expired.
CEO- Woodcock also stated that Ingevity expects limited impact on its commercial operations or financial results through patent expiration in March 2022 specifically as a result of yesterday’s decision. "We’ve always said that we expect competition for our ‘honeycomb’ scrubbers once the ‘844 patent expires," he said. "Given that it typically takes automotive OEMs several years to redesign and introduce automotive platforms, any new entrant into the ‘scrubber’ market would most likely occur after the ‘844 patent’s expected natural expiry anyway."
Ingevity also stated that the U.S. District Court decision has no bearing on the company’s ‘649 patent family in the area of canisters designed to reduce emissions in new, emerging "low purge" engines. "We believe that our ‘649 patent currently applies to systems that are on 15% to 20% of U.S. and Canadian vehicles and could apply to anywhere from 30% to 70% of future near-zero fuel system designs," said Woodcock. This intellectual property is currently protected by patents not only in the United States, but in China and Europe as well.
"Our activated carbon products are optimally manufactured to both capture gasoline emissions and return them to the engine for their intended use and do so in a way that provides the OEM with the greatest flexibility, minimal canister design, quality and reliability. This is where Ingevity is differentiated among other players, and this is the fundamental basis of our competitive advantage," said Woodcock.

And then on the mix, the outsourced versus capital, sort of how much of a shift year-on-year are you expecting? And then just kind of giving us a sense for what to benchmark to see, if things sort of either normalize or potentially pull in as we move through the year?

Yeah, so on the outsourced the capital shift, our outsourced service backlog has significantly increased and our capital backlog has decreased and our outsourced service backlog has increased more than the capital backlog has decreased, obviously. Now again, part of that is the microelectronics where we had a very strong first half of the year last year, now we're expecting that orders will come in, that will impact more in the second half of this year, but those are in the pipeline, but have not actually [Indecipherable] at this point in time. Regarding -- again, a lot of it comes down to what happens with COVID, the uncertainties related to COVID. That impacts the ability to do a lot of things, and it also potentially impacts costs. Should we -- should COVID not be as bad as perhaps as feared? We don't get the cost, the revenue starts to flow. And maybe we hit the upside case that we have on the chart. If COVID happens a little worse than we thought, maybe you're more in the downside scenario. In both scenarios, we still expect to be relatively stable year-over-year, maybe a slight decline, maybe a slight increase. But again, if you think about it more in a standpoint, pre-COVID to post-COVID, but you don't have a full year of post-COVID in the results. You have a half a year of pre-COVID and a half year post-COVID, which makes a more of a muted FY '21, considering those comps.

One idea is this WORK. They are down a lot from when there was competition concerns raised but these things have a way of equaling out... I wonder if their next earnings they can squeeze out a win. They are a STAY AT HOME stock sort of so it will be held back but I have a sense these guys are going to say some good things. But there is that danger always of both Covid stay at homes being punished, tech being punished, competition it's a wall of worry so any relief would cause this stk to pop pretty good.
They report Dec 9th so the idea is maybe wait for the official X-mas rally to be declared but I'm considering buying WORK before earnings. And then just basically hoping.

Well the 12/11 $25 calls are $3, so one would think they are going to need a blowout quarter.One idea is this WORK. You know this whole pandemic thing. 60 Minutes did a piece with the Dr who basically came up with the DNA fix to make this vaccine. He got the info on the Covid from China and did this in one day. He held up a little vial and 60 minutes asked " That's basically what they have come up with today at Moderna etc. " and the answer was yes.
In the future when a deadly disease emerges might we just jump to instant vaccines? Despite the danger? The danger of waiting as long as we did is the death totals that's not stopping. We could of prevented all of this if we had just blindly taken what that Dr came up with in ONE day!
