Yeah thats the reason DISH is up so much too. I called it back on 4/17... its up 60% in 2 months. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/dish-network-dish.343445/ The S&P is barely up 10% in the same period. Oh well.

Yeah VMC was a no brainer. Thats why its always good to have a shopping list for when we get these 1800 point down days.
 
I'm with you on the no new ideas front i have hit a wall.
There is something going on for real at TJX... they are getting better selections because so many clothes stores are going under. The off price segment is getting a jolt of high fashion perhaps. I'm just not an off price guy. My Mom was, Century 21 big time. I have a hard time buying Dollar store in recessions it's just such junk.

YETI. I am a cooler cup or a cooler with a cute name that attracts those that go on camping trips and that is a big upswing area now... It's an affordable gift or is it too expensive a product? With so many people out of work will a landscaper really buy a YETI product?

EBAY. Here as well there is a real fundamental change going on. This stock can be bought a buck or two lower- closer to $42.00

I'm watching LightPath LPTH carefully. That chart says I am in a flag right now with further upside. Hedge funds have started to find this stock a few I think 4 to 8 have gotten on board. These are electrical components for temperature scanners...

Slightly risky play here COOP. Apparently Leon Cooperman no relation to the stock said on CNBC that he loves the stock and that it has a book value of $24.00. The stock trades for $13.00. These guys sell mortgages and have some risk associated with their business model but the PE according to Yahoo is 4??? COOP is worth following.

Edit.... though Ollies... it may keep going. Stocks that make new highs tend to keep making new highs. It needs to break $100 though, this is a third attempt 5 years... but if the thesis is correct, they should have their best inventories ever. Hmmm. You know if you see the AT&T news today... you know that another HUGE round of firings is coming in July. This unemployment index is going get ugly. Companies that took loans and Gov hand outs they will be extended once more I believe in time... God they'll try to strecth this to the election but It's not going to work. People are going to get fired en mass when the big realization comes.

What is the big realization well look no further than Vegas. Once we are all open it will be a sell the news event as people realize business is 50% down everywhere. I have to be worried about our WP Carey a giant part of our barbel strategy... they are not as exposed to retail as you would think but still..

I just sent a very grumpy email to my money manager -- I don't like the way this advance is going and I'm starting to get very nervous.

Does Olly sell garden stuff? I worry about DKS sporting goods merch not being exclusive but they do have a travel & stream division... What ever happened to Cabella's? The old symbol is not working...

Susquehanna analyst Sam Poser raised the firm's price target on Dick's Sporting to $51 from $48 and keeps a Positive rating on the shares. The analyst said the reinstatement of its dividend and share buyback program is evidence the company is emerging from the crisis in a position of strength. He believes the company will continue to cement its position as the top national sporting goods retailer.

I think I'm buying Dick today.... on my anniversary to my wife I'm buying dick... who would of thought...

Have to be in DKS stk by June 22 to get reinstated dividend.... There are two gap ups so this is probably a good trade but it is an very expensive stock. They have business down 30% and puled guidance....

My gut says we want exposure to gov spending.... Leidos.... in amuch unloved sector Aerospace... but on the right side not flying planes. Leidos Holdings(LDOS): This Reston, VA-based company, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for 2020 EPS indicates year-over-year improvement of 0.6% <-- Not much but NOT DOWN.

One addendum here I sold an entire previous ET portfolio to start this one. I have one hold over: QURE Uniquere.... This is a Crisper play foreign.... I guess we should just add it here because it was bought live on ET and I'm probabaly NOT ONE DAMN CENT AHEAD an entirley wasted year... so I must believe in it ... I guess? This will be a CRSPR year, a breakthrough year for that tech. I'm sure of it.

It's funny the last thread has a few main themes and Sports Betting & Crispr were the big ones and here we are a year later... It feels like these themes are coming together finally. Along with Shopping from home.

We Have Cash we could add something an Ebay perhaps.... Maybe an Olly??? Or just some Dick. Stocks are pricey here, retail driven plays are I think long in the tooth.

CENT- Central Garden & Pet was $28.76 on this day a year ago.
Today it is $34.84 That's NOT expensive. And it's in a hot area...

SunTrust analyst Bill Chappell raises his price target on Buy-rated Scotts Miracle-Gro (SMG) to $150 from $140 and on Hold-rated Central Garden & Pet (CENT) to $35 from $30 as part of a broader Consumer Staples research note, citing the findings of his survey about consumer activity trends during the mandated shelter-in-place orders. The analyst notes that a "whopping" 42% of respondents indicated they have or plan to garden during the shelter-at-home weeks, which is a long-term positive for Scotts Miracle-Gro as many consumers will likely stay in the category for years to come. According to Chappell, over 25% of respondents also indicated that they have recently or planning to adopt a dog or a cat, which will drive Central Garden & Pet's pet food product category.

The Company does not get a lot of coverage. Not a lot of folks know about it. & Like Ollie's I don't think I've veer seen a Central Garden Store...Or would know where to find their pet food products? They don't advertise... That's the scary part-- who the heck are they? Maybe someone here has utilized one in their area?

But there is an attraction to a stock that is in a good place.. I'm assuming they do web... You know what I'm going to have to ask for coverage on this name.. But This would be my most likely add here....
